Have a Say

WeCAN is committed to bringing awareness and a voice to issues facing our historic but fast-changing community. Rezoning requests, liquor and cannabis licences, public hearings, and other notices from the city regularly come to the Land Use and Business Outreach committees and the Board of Directors. By being tuned into WeCAN via newsletter or social media, you will know what changes are being asked of the neighborhood.

WeCAN encourages all of our neighbors to contact your representatives whenever you have questions or concerns regarding what is happening in your neighborhood. You can find your elected officials and their contact information on our Community Resources page.

Volunteer

What better way to get to know your neighbors then spending some time volunteering with them? WeCAN organizes several volunteer events throughout the year and always welcome more hands! We hold a tree planting day and man a Colfax Marathon water station every spring, and participate in a neighborhood clean-up day every fall. Learn more about these annual WeCAN volunteer opportunities and how to get involved on Our Programs page.

Volunteer to join a WeCAN Committee. Everyone has a skill to share, bring yours to WeCAN. Bring your expertise and ideas to one of our committees to help the organization grow and connect to more people in West Colfax. WeCAN also welcomes new ideas for volunteer events and committees, please connect with us if you have a project you would like to lead.

Attend Events

Another great way to get to know your neighbors, attend one of our fun social events throughout the year. WeCAN holds a Running Club every Monday at Seedstock Brewery. Learn more about some of our current and past events on Our Programs page.

Lead

Become a member of the WeCAN Leadership. These passionate and committed volunteers bring their time and skills to the WeCAN organization to keep it running in-front-of and behind the scenes. Consider becoming at At Large Board member and getting involved with one of our committees to learn more about the details of leading an RNO. WeCAN runs on 100% volunteer power, and neighbors are always welcome to join!
