A few good safety reminders from Denver Police District 1 and the Commanders Advisory Group meets tomorrow. This Month's C.A.G. Meeting is soon approaching.......REMINDER

This month’s C.A.G. meeting will be on MONDAY, JUNE 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the District One Community Room, 1311 West 46th Avenue.

Remember: Make sure your overhead garage door is closed and the garage side yard door locked.

Don’t forget: Do not leave any items in plain view in your vehicle. Thieves love “window shopping” in cars for items of value.

Remember: Make sure vehicle windows are rolled up and the vehicle doors locked. If you leave your window “cracked” due to the hot weather, thieves can easily pry the window open and/or break the window to unlawfully enter your vehicle.

Be smart – don’t be a victim of a crime of opportunity.

Learn the crime statistics for your neighborhood. Bring your questions and concerns to be addressed at the meeting.

Have a fun and safe summer! ... See MoreSee Less

A few good safety reminders from Denver Police District 1 and the Commanders Advisory Group meets tomorrow.

Do you make decisions that influence design, safety, planning, land use, and overall function of Federal and Colfax? Do you or does your organization serve populations depending on the named corridors? Do you personally depend on these corridors to support you by foot or by wheelchair? If so, these walks are for you.

IWalkDenver: Federal and Over the Colfax CloverJun 22, 4:00pmNear 17th & Federal (just north of Colfax Clover)Walk Description: Do you make decisions that influence design, safety, planning, land use, and overall function of the named corridors below? Do you or does your organization serve populations depending on the named corridors? Do you personally depend on these corridors to support you by foot or by wheelchair? If so, these walks are for you. The walk will showcase the challenging pedestrian realities and creates full-bodied engagement related to gaps in safety, comfort, and accessibility facing our most vulnerable modes of transportation (pedestrians, wheelchairs, strollers, older adults). It will be a two to three-mile walk that moves through difficult intersections and connecting streets along segments of Federal Blvd. We will spend a significant portion of our time walking and connecting to the Colfax Clover with the West Colfax BID. More details here: westcolfaxbid.org/over-the-colfax-clover/

Please only sign up if you find yourself inside of the questions asked at the beginning of the walk description. We have intentionally chosen to do these walks in rush-hour time frames. If you are typically needing to be in the office at these times, consider talking with your colleagues about attending this walk as professional development and education.

Walking Movement Leaders: Jonathon Stalls, Founder and Member-Owner of the Walk2Connect Cooperative.

Bus Fare: Please bring $2.60 for a one-way bus fare as we will be taking the 30 or 31 back to our starting location.

Meeting Location, Transit and Parking: TBD. Stay tuned! Please RSVP on the main Walk2Connect event page to get updated once we get closer.

Trip Notes:

-Be sure to bring water and a notebook for taking notes if desired.
-We will break many times along the way as we discuss the built environment.
-Although the trip leader will bring snacks, please be sure you are packing what you need to be comfortable, quenched, and fed.
-Bring a lunch.
-Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and you may also want to include appropriate outerwear, hats, and gloves to accommodate for the weather.
-Sorry, no dogs on this walk.
-Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening. Check with your leader if you are unsure. ... See MoreSee Less
